This is exciting. I like this. I like this a lot. Hopefully I’ll get my beta key soon, which will keep me busy until Diablo 3 comes out. <3
FREAKIN AMERICA MESSES WITH EVERYTHING.
My childhood was a lie… ;_;
when I watched the subbed version I literally just stared open mouthed at the screen for like 5 seasons.
Pssh, I’ve been staring at the screen with an open mouth since I started watching subbed anime.
because America ruins everything. I don’t even glance at dubbed anime. Haven’t in years.
I’m more likely to watch subbed animes, but I still find some charm in dubbed ones. It’s just that, for a while, dubbing was in the dumps.
I guess I over exaggerated a bit. I do like Full Metal Alchemist dubbed. But that’s the only dubbed anime I can think of that I’ve liked in a very long time.
FMA’s dub was amazing, but I don’t really recall ever watching it subbed so I guess my opinion’s kind of biased… I really like Hetalia’s dub, even though it’s cheesy and accented (so I guess most people find it annoying?) I find it humorous. The animes for games tend to have good dubs, too, if they can keep the original voice actors. I’d still have to say that most dubs are too cheesy sounding for me, though, so I can see why people don’t like them.
the dubs of the 90’s and early 2000’s are mind boggingly excruciating. I’ve never seen Hetalia. I mean as a child the voices never bothered me, but rewatching them now? I cringe. I had hopes for Bleach considering what America did with FMA but I wanted to throw up when I heard Rukia speak. But yeah, most of the time I just laugh. And laugh. And laugh. And laugh some more. It doesn’t make me angry or anything; I just think it’s funny.
A lot of the time they’re just very silly. I’ve seen Bleach a few times, and I can agree her voice is pretty bad. I didn’t know it could cause such an extreme reaction, though. FMA is certainly the prime of dubs though, I just wish that Vic Mignogna wasn’t the voice for every teenage boy ever created. Ever.
I know your feels. Oh. Cowboy Bebop. That was another ok dub. And so was Darker than Black.
Hm, I never really saw the Dark than Black anime, seeing as I didn’t really get into the manga. You can’t go wrong with Cowboy Bebop, though. I liked the Sailor Moon dub, even if it was a ghost of it’s former awesome. Might just be my nostalgia.
Despite everything that went terribly wrong with the dub, it will always be favorite Anime. It’s (no joke) an obsession of mine. And I highly recommend Darker than Black. It’s excellent.
Every thing went terribly wrong for dubs of that time, it’s their charm. I need to rekindle my love of Sailor Moon for both the anime and the live action series. PGSM was super adorable… I think I read the first chapter for Darker than Black. Then I forgot about it. Then I heard the Abingdon Boys School song that was used for the opening. Then I forgot about it. x_x
